        Mark your calendars: Tango Houston has announced a Milonga
        at The Continental Club on Sunday, November 21, featuring
        the fabulous and complete Glovertango, the finest 7pc
        Tango orchestra in the western hemisphere. The par ty will
        start at 8:00 with recorded music and the band will play
        two sets beginn ing at 9:00. This event is always a great
        time, and will include the Tosca String Quartet, who will
        be back from an extended international tour. More details
        forthcoming as the date draws nearer, so stay tuned!

        Another calendar entry:  HATA dancers will be part of
        the Artful Thursday program at the Museum of Fine Arts,
        Houston, on September 9 at 6pm.  This is part of the events
        surrounding the show "Inverted Utopias: Avant-Garde Art in
        Latin America."  Former Houston tangero Tim Bugh returns
        to perform with Joan Bishop.  The free program will be
        followed by a reception and a few door prize giveaways.

        Tango Houston's Natalie Kassenyeva is seeking volunteers
        to help at the upcoming Turkish Festival.... "It is on
        the 25th of September. Whole day volunteers will get
        lunch and t-shirt. We w ill have whirling dervishes and a
        folk concert. Would you post that among tango dancers. I
        think that we might have some people to volunteer. Ask
        them to contact me @ <natalienmk at yahoo.com> if they are
        interested..." Please have some fun, and help out Tango
        Houston's fantastic treasurer!

        We are pleased to announce that Victor Collins has
        recovered from his recent surgery.  The milonga and free
        class on the north side of town continue this Friday,
        with an added practica before the class, and his group
        classes will start again next week, Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Monday

        Glover Gill of Glovertango normally plays delicious solo
        tango piano at the Continental Club from 8-9pm.  He is
        off for two weeks, but Tango Houston will still be there
        with recorded music.  Come to dance or just to hang out
        in the relaxed atmosphere. 3700 Main at Winburn. Plenty

        Victor Collins begins classes again on Sept 1 - beginner

        Eric Lanoix, continues a series of tango classes in Clear
        Lake, building on the tango beachhead there from classes
        last month.  Explore the sense rhythm, the sensuality, or
        just have fun learning Tango. Class material will cover
        walking, the basic step, and forward/backward ochos. At
        the end of the four-week cycle, you will be able to dance
        socially with other members of the Houston Tango community.
        Eric, with the help of Diana Ramirez and Susan Collins,
        will teach beginning tango 7-8pm, intermediate 8-9pm,

        on the weekends, now adding tango night every Friday.

        of Fountainview, it is in the same strip mall as the
        "Hurricane Hut" and accross the street from the Wild West

        like last time We will have some wine and finger food,

Sunday

        Eric Lanoix hosts a regular Tango/Tango practica in the
        Clear Lake area, at Dance Moves, 611 Kirby in Seabrook,
        4-7pm.  Midway between the Tango class and the social
        dance, the �practica� combines elements of both. The
        practica is designed to help dancers wor k on their tango
        basics (posture, walk, turning technique, musicality),
        while presenting a new figure each week all this in a
        relaxed environment where dancer's are invited to try new
        things, ask questions, and just ... enjoy dancing tango.
        It's only $7 for 3 hours of guided practice!
