Derik & Susana kick off Tuesday Tango at Byzantio,
a great new cafe bar with a wood floor, great food and
drink, and friendly management. Check it out starting
        this week, on January 6.

Martin & Natia host a Saturday milonga this weekend.
This milonga is a special birthday celebration for
        Thomas Gumpel.

After another great New Year's Eve party at Victor's Eye
Candy studio, it appears that that will be the last event
at that studio. When Victor returns from Argentina, he
will resume teaching but at a new location. Many thanks to
Victor Collins and the entire Collins family that worked
so hard and donated so much to make it available to us.
And thus passes a location that has been a mainstay of
the Houston tango community for quite a few years. Sigh.

Martin & Natia will have a free Friday night class this
        week only, Jan 9, 7-8pm.

The Gypsies have scheduled their Julian New Year Party for
this Sunday, Jan 11, from 5:30pm-midnight at City Streets.
This is always a fun party, where a huge cross section of
Houston dancers can mix and mingle. In past years, nearly
a thousand people have attended. More details to follow.
