Well it's a lot busier this week than it was last week!

Robert & Valerie Schoenberg are hosting a Saturday milonga
at a studio with a brand new wooden floor and an excellent
sound system. The owner advises them that there will be
plenty of parking available. 8-12pm at Dancing for Life,
        6120-A Richmond. www.dancingforlifehouston.com, $10/person
        http://houtango.com/maps/DancingforLifeMap.html

Tango Houston has organized a four week sequence of
beginning tango lessons on Wednesdays at King's Center

with the Turkish community in Houston, these lessons
are open to anyone. Free for Tango Houston members
and Turkish groups, $5 otherwise. The plan is to rotate

Tango Houston is considering some proposals to restructure
the rules for election to its board of directors.
While this led to lively discussion on May 9, it also
required rescheduling the annual meeting and election of
three board members to Sunday, June 6, 6pm, at Serrano's.
We hope you will join in the discussions and contribute
your energy and ideas to improve tango in Houston.

Toe to Toe brings back Milonga con Las Minas (Dancing with the
Girls) starting at 9pm.  Join us in the most elegant tango venue
in Houston for a night of dancing, expert DJ-ing. To keep
things interesting, there will be a Lindy Hop demonstration at
10:30pm by Hank Hauffe and Susana Martinez. Location: The Cotton
Exchange Bar, 808 Franklin at Travis, two blocks from the Metro
rail Preston-stop. Hank has been teaching swing for 3+ years. He
is currently teaching at HSDS (the Houston Swing Dance Society),
RSDS (the Rice Social Dance Society) and gives the occasional
private lesson and special occasion group lesson. He's always
loved just moving and playing with the music but has found in
Lindy that moving to the music together - with the connection
felt through the music, your partner and even the floor - can
be so much more fun! Hank's partner is Susana Martinez. Susana
came here from Spain just last August to teach kindergarten.
She is one of the most delightful follows around because of her
great connection with her partner and feel for the music.

The Tango Houston Sunday Night Practica is back, at
        Serrano's, 2815 South Shepherd at Kipling. 713-528-4550.
It's a great venue: super location, excellent sound system,
lots of room, and a neat atmosphere. With more room, we are
going back to labelling this event as a practica. There
should be plenty of space in which to teach, practice,
work on class material, in addition to just dancing
for fun. The food is great, so come early for supper,
and there is a full bar. We'll crank it up about 8:00,
like always, and plan to get out by about 11:00. We hope
you come check it out! Cover charge is $3.00 for members,
        and $5.00 for non-members.
