This Friday, November 5, Toe to Toe invites you to
the Alternalonga Chez Esra! DJ Leo will be spinning a
healthy mix of the oldies but goodies that everyone knows
and loves as well as the latests in "alternative tango."
This is a fun and funky milonguita with some groovy tunes
to let your creativity fly! Dancing will begin at 9:30pm,
and usually goes till 1am, but if people are still dancing,
the music will play on! It is recommended that you give
our hostess (Esra) $5 for the generosity of letting us
twirl around on her floor and make a mess of her kitchen,
or bring a snack. This all goes to Esra so be as generous
(or stingy) as you want :-) BYOB. Questions? Email Leonor:

        From Joan Bishop-
Dear Barbara King and the Houston Argentine Tango
Community: We express our appreciation to Barbara King for
her demonstration of confidence in the Houston Argentine
Tango Association (HATA). Based on our long-standing,
favorable relationship with King's Dancing Center,
Martin and Natia's position there and their recent
circumstances, and in exchange for the cover charges,
Barbara took the financial risk of providing HATA the
use of her large ballroom, a security guard, and the
reliable help of her employee Carlos Folis for our
Halloween Milonga. Thank you Barbara! Our success is
attributable to all those who devoted their time and
enthusiasm in preparing for the event, as well as to
those who attended. Attendees are continuing to respond
        graciously. Everything, including Houston's weather,
worked together to achieve success, including our being
able to obtain visiting bandoneonista Gerardo Perez of
Montevideo, who played two sets of tangos and milongas
for our enjoyment. We are a small community with a great
heart that accomplishes big things when we work together.
Whether you devoted weeks, days, or hours of work, dressed
in costume, paid your cover charge to attend, brought a
friend, sent a student, made a phone call, or sent e-mail,
you contributed to our event's success. We thank you,
one and all! Sincerely, Houston Argentine Tango Association

Victor Collins' milonga and free class on the north side
