PURO TANGO's 3-DAY TANGO EXTRAVAGANZA

ANGEL GARCIA & ROSA COLLANTES
 
ANGEL GARCIA is a serious-minded professional dancer, ensemble
member, and a visionary choreographer. Garcia has worked and
studied with Carlos Gavito, Nito and Elba, Hector Zaraspe. He
has danced live at Manhattan's most illustrious venue including
Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Town Hall also shared his
artistry with an appreciative worldwide audience, appearing on Good
Morning America, Best Talk. Music videos are still another arena
the multitalented Garcia has conquered, appearing in Hey Cousin
Vinnie, the chart-topping Vanessa Williams/Chayanne single from
the major motion picture Dance with Me. Garcia's unique style in
Argentine Tango, Milonga and Vals, and his encyclopedic knowledge
of the Latin American Folkloric repertoire, plus a lively take on
contemporary social dances including Salsa and Merengue, ensure
that he's always in demand "from the ballroom to the barrio,
from Boston to Buenos Aires" anywhere excellence is found.

ROSA COLLANTES has been performing, choreographing and teaching
locally and internationally. She has worked and studied with
some of the most distinguished names of the dance world including
Carlos Gavito, Nito and Elba Garcia, Omar Vega, Hector Zaraspe,
and Pedro and Laura Escudero.  She choreographed for venues
like Tribute for Tito Puente at Madison Square Garden, La MAMA
Theater, and the Walnut Street Theater's production of the tango
musical Camila. etc. She was the assistant choreographer for the
promotional video for the movie Dance with Me. She has coached
movie stars like Chayanne, Vanessa Williams, John Leguizamo, Mira
Sorvino, and Matt Damon to mention a few. Rosa is an exclusive
instructor for the Ballroom Department of the Untied Nations.

As instructors Angel and Rosa have traveled extensively teaching
workshops in Argentine tango and salsa all over USA, Europe,
and Scandinavia.  Recently Angel and Rosa toured with Julio
Iglesias and Company around the French Caribbean.


3-DAY TANGO EXTRAVAGANZA

Friday, December, 9 -7:30 PM "Tango & Salsa Fusion" A spectacular
tango y más dance performance featuring professional teachers,
choreographers, and dancers Angel Garcia & Rosa Collantes, and
a special appearance of tango soprano Janis DeLara. Instituto De
Mexico Auditorium. Open to the Public.

Saturday, December 10- 12:00 PM; Tango Workshop I- Angel & Rosa
teach three intensive classes for beginners and intermediates:
"Floor Craft", "La Pausa", and "Musicality & Respecting the Line
of Dance."

--9:00 PM; PURO TANGO celebrates 3rd Anniversary with "Milonga
Ardiente."
            Mini-performance by Angel and Rosa.

Sunday, December 11- 1:00 PM; Tango Workshop II- Angel & Rosa
teach three intensive classes for beginners and intermediates:
"Simple Patterns on Volcadas," "Posture & Technique," and "Colgadas
in Tango and Vals."

Early Bird Special in by November 15th.  Package and "A la Carte"
options available.
