        In addition to Little Napoli on Friday and Helios on
        Sunday, this Saturday we have two milongas to choose from:

        Ilya Karash writes: Introducing Tango Oblivion, a
        new milonga presented by Sonia's World of Dance and
        Ilya Karash.  Thank you for making last month's Grand
        Opening such a great success, and we look forwarding
        to seeing everyone this coming Saturday, March 25th.
        Tango Oblivion will be held every last Saturday of the
        month at 9pm. Come enjoy the best music selection,
        huge dance floor, wine tasting and great atmosphere
        at a central Galleria location. The studio website is

        Dancing for Life hosts their next Milonga on Saturday

        Little Napoli's Tango/Latin night from 8:30 on appears
        to be a weekly event.  Mike, the owner would like to
        extend an invitation to all tango and Latin music lovers.
        The restaurant is located in the corner of Main St. and
        Texas Ave.  There is plenty of parking on the streets
        or in the garage next door (on Texas) - the charge
        at the garage is $5.00 for Little Napoli's customer.

        Daniela and crew host a milonga at Helios on Sunday,
        8-midnight, this week with classical tango dance music.

        The Clear Lake Persian tea time milonga is off this week,
        back on April 2nd.

        Juan Carlos and Alicia Suarez of Always Tango have
        a terrific workshop and DVD release party coming
        April 15-16 with Anton Gazenbeek and Natalie
        Laruccia will debut their new DVD covering the
        Todaro-Bravo Tango System.  Complete details at:

        In addition, Juan Carlos and Alicia have arranged a
        special tango exhibition by Pampa & Valeria Cortes,
        professional tango dancers and choreographers, at their
        regular May night of Art, Salsa & Tango, Saturday, May 20.

        Eric Lanoix writes: Join us Saturdays April 22nd and
        May 13th for pair of classes on Tango Turning Technique
        taught by Eric Lanoix and Karen. The classes will be
        taught at Dancing for Life Studio (2726, Fondren Road in
        Houston TX).  Each class will run from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
        and focus on 1) Basic turning technique; 2) Lead/Follow
        tips; 3) Variations (time allowing).  The cost for each
        class will be $15/person.  The classes will be immediately
        followed by a Milonga at Dancing for Life ($10/person),
        which will run from 9:00pm until 1:00am. The milonga

        piano, now back home at the Continental Club,

Tuesday

        The Houston Argentine Tango Association continues
        their class cycle, now with three classes each night.
        Joan Bishop instructs at their new location: The Dance
        Place, 3300 Chimney Rock @ Beverly Hill, Suite 500.
        This new space offers room to grow with new students.
        Beginner 7-8pm, Intermediate 8-9pm, Advanced 9-10pm.

Wednesday

        Salento Coffee sponsors a weekly tango event.  The dancing
        runs from 8:30pm to 11:30pm, if there is demand.  Salento
        Coffee is located at 2407 Rice Blvd in the Rice Village
        area: Salento moves all the tables to the walls and open
        up a nice floor of smooth tile.  They even offer a special
        "Tango Sandwich."

        The new Clear Lake Tango Club meets at 7:30pm at Dance
        Moves studio, 611 Kirby Blvd, in Seabrook's Taylor Lake
        Village. Robert Barnes teaches the Salon Style Argentine
        tango and that uses a syllabus. Cost is ~5$, to cover

        Roger Soto's classes continue 8-9pm at The Spanish
        Institute of Dance, 1208 N. Post Oak Rd., Ste 180,

        and Ikea. $40/person for a four week cycle.  Cycles
        currently alternate between Beginner 1 and Beginner 2.

Sunday

        Daniela and the "Helios crew" host a weekly milonga at
        Helios, 8:00-11:00pm, and possibly later.  Most Sundays it
        is classical tango music, DJed by Barbara and Roger, Mercy
        and Oscar.  On the third Sunday, this milonga features
        alternative music DJed by The Popular Tango Liberation
        Front.  On these alternative music nights, the evening
        will still open with an hour of classical tango music.
        Helios is at 411 Westheimer, on the south side of the
        street between Montrose and Taft, very close to Taft.

        [Skipping this week, next milonga on April 2nd.]
        The Clear Lake Tango Club will host a bi-weekly Persian
        tea-time milonga every other Sunday from 4-7pm at
        the Cyrus Persian Grill.  The Cyrus Persian Grill
        is located at 911, NASA Parkway, Houston TX (in the
        Clear Lake area). Tel.:281-280-8200. To get there from
        town, take I-45 South, exit at Exit 25, and go left
        (East) Until you reach the restaurant.  The restaurant
        offers an excellent selection of Persian dishes (Eric
        recommends the food.)  Admission is free, but guest are
