Alejandro Mamontoff writes: GREETINGS!
I am extending A BIG THANK YOU to the ENTIRE tango
dance community in Houston for supporting the Tango Club at
Piney Point Elementary School. A big thank you goes to:
All our local tango instructors for their support; Martin
and Natia Pelaez for donating Café Tango Bar & Studio
for the evening and for their silent auction donation;
silent auction contributor Mance Peery; Sheema Munir
for designing the beneficio ambiance; Mauro Gonzalez
for creating the signature beneficio mini-empanadas;
Eduardo Zetina for charming us with his singing; the
taxi dancers and their riders; the TANGOHOUS dancers for
alluring us with their Nuevo moves; and the Ad Hoc Milonga
a Beneficio Committee for their inspiration and drive.
A big thank you also goes to all the known and unknown,
planned and unplanned, prepared and unprepared, advance and
last-minute volunteers and supporters who made the benefit
event beautiful. WOW! And a big thank you goes to all
who contributed but could not make it to the benefit event.
We received $400 in donations prior to the benefit
event, and over $980 during the event. We anticipate that
proceeds surrounding the benefit event will supply tango
shoes and clothes for the club for two or three years,
if not longer! In other words - You rock!
