        Mikas & Indre teach Tango Fundamentals classes for
        beginners on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Location: City
        Dance Studio, 5416 Chaucer Dr (behind the Ruggles in the
        Rice village), Tango Fundamentals I: class is designed
        to give essentials of social tango.  8pm to 9:30 pm,
        Thursdays (new cycle starting September 27) Cycle consists
        of 6 classes of 1.30hrs each.  $40 for 6 class cycle,

        of all the most fundamental aspects of Tango, and will
        include exercises aimed at improving precision, balance and
        musicality.  An excellent primer for absolute beginners and
        a rigorous workout for more advanced dancers .  Dance like
        you mean it. All of it!!  7:45-9:00 /  Introductory Nuevo
        Tango (3 months of Tango pre-requisite).  Class will
        stress essential techniques specific to "nuevo" or more
        "open embrace" style that will allow for connected,
        dynamic, improvised, organic movement in Tango.  Where:

        Luna Argentina performance at the University of Houston -
        Clear Lake Bayou Theater, Friday, Sept. 28, 2007. Susana
        Tango Productions will join The Crisalis Music Project to
        present an evening of Argentine song and dance with Luna
        Argentina.  A story of that begins in the Argentine outback
        and follows to the streets of Buenos Aires, displaying
        the passios stirred by the rhythmic sounds of the Malambo
        and the elegant and seductive dance that is the soul of
        Argentina, the tango.  Following the concert there will
        be a special reception featuring salsa music and dance

Tuesday

        The Houston Argentine Tango Association continues their
        class cycle this week, now with three classes each night.
        Joan Bishop instructs at The Dance Place, 3300 Chimney Rock
        @ Beverly Hill, Suite 500.  This new space offers room
        to grow with new students.  Beginner 7-8pm, Intermediate

Wednesday

        Jackie Arita, manager of Salento Cafe, sponsors a
        weekly tango event.  The dancing runs from 9 pm till
        midnight. Salento Cafe is located at 2407 Rice Blvd in
        the Rice Village area: Salento moves all the tables to the
        walls and open up a nice floor of smooth tile. Tango music
        dj'ed by Oscar.  Salento offers a great selection of wines,

        Helios Tango Club new intermediate cycle, Wednesdays,
        Sept 26-Oct 24, 8pm-9pm.  Every session of this class is
        new material and it can be taken many times. The next
        cycle of classes will focus on building on the tango
        fundamentals. We explore the structure and technique
        of tango and keep memorizing patterns to a minimum.

        Sunday practica is back!  We have resumed our weekly Sunday
        practica.  Mariana has opened up her new enterprise, the
        "Avant Garden" in place of "Helios/Mausoleum". It has
        been completely reborn, and looks fantastic. We will
