Helios Tango Club Instruction - Intermediate Level

Ron Jones will join us as a guest teacher for another
cycle of the regular intermediate classes in May. Ron has
been dancing tango for 10 years, and is fluent in close
embrace, salon and nuevo tango styles. He lists Ernesto
Carmona, Marcelo y Analia, Daniel Lapadula, and Andreas y

Every session of this class is new material and it can be
taken many times. The next cycle of classes will focus on
building on the tango fundamentals - improving the quality
of each step and the connection between the partners.
We explore the structure and technique of Argentine Tango
and keep memorizing patterns to a minimum.

Technique requirement: students must be familiar with
walking to the cross, forward and back ochos, ocho

Laura Pellegrino sends lots of news:

May 5th-26th. My regular Monday night Technique class
in May is going to be supplanted with a Beginner Tango
class. We will continue to work on technique but will be
incorporating it into the embrace. All your basic steps,
necessary to get onto the floor will be covered. If you
know anybody who wants to get started, please forward
this to them. If you have some experience dancing and
want to "drop in" to refresh you can do that for $15 a
la carte . Otherwise cost is $55 for the month of May
($45 for full-time students) due on May 5th. Come on down!

As many of you know, we're gearing up for workshops with
Murat and Michelle Erdemsel in May and Javier Antar in
June-July. It is rare that we get to have such great
guest teachers spending this much time in our community,
so by all means, take advantage of it!!!!!

First, Murat and Michelle will be in Austin starting
on the 13th of May. They will be doing a Special 2
Hour Musicality workshop on Wed. May 14th in place
of my regular Wed. night class in Austin if you're up
for the drive. This will be a bucket of fun and you
will learn a LOT!! (Incidentally, this class will cover
material not covered at either one of the workshops in
Austin or Houston) the Cost will be $25 and it will
take place at the Khabele studio at 7th and Rio Grande.
Directions and time etc. on my website. Full-time students
        get it half price.

Sat/Sun. May 24th and 25th) will be their regular
workshop in Houston. Sat. night milonga will be
hosted by TangoHous. The Houston class schedule,
pricing and registration info. is now up on my website
at www.tangointexas.com. You can register in advance if
        you like, via Paypal.

M&M will be in Texas until the 29th of May so, stay
tuned!!! I am keeping a list of requested private lessons
requests so if you'd like to be on it, let me know. They
will be available the Monday following their workshops
(26th,) and possibly the 19th as well.

Following up in June will be Javier Antar from Buenos
Aires who will be with us in Texas, from the 24th of June
through the july, 4th weekend. His Houston workshop will
take place over the 4th of July weekend (5th and 6th)
. If you will be out of town for the holiday weekend,
you may want to come to Austin for his workshop on June
28th and 29th. Details will be forthcoming.

Like I said, its unusual to have out of town teachers
here for longer than a weekend. You'll be able to go to
a workshop, learn something and then actually have some
time to digest it, work on it and then ask them about it
a week LATER!! How cool is that!!??

Anyway, let me know if you've got questions! Hope you
        will all be in attendance.

          Beso!
            Laura
