[I was a bit ignorant about what is involved in a
tango marathon, so I asked Mercy over the holidays.
Turns out it is simple - a marathon is like a normal
festival but without organized classes and more dancing.
The organizers have boiled it down to the best part: lots
of dancing with great DJs. Sounds like fun! --Lester]
The Houston Tango Marathon is coming January 21st-23rd!
Come join us for the first-ever Houston Tango Marathon,
a community-based event aimed at promoting new friends,
energized connections and above all, TANGO. Three late
nights of dancing fueled by some of the nation's top
DJs. It will be an event reminisced for the rest of the
year. Be there!
The event will take place from Friday, January 21st
through Sunday, January 23rd at Rice University.

The fantastic traveling show Tango Buenos Aires performs
at Jones Hall for two great shows, 2pm & 8pm, Saturday,
January 29, 2011.
Known as one of Argentina's great cultural exports, Tango
Buenos Aires returns to Houston for two performances of its
program titled "Fire and Passion of Tango." Incorporating the
key elements of love, passion and seduction, this piece introduces
audience members to the many ways tango has evolved into modern
times through the precise movement of its dancers and its live,
five-piece music ensemble performing the music of Astor Piazzolla
among other South American composers.
Tango Tea, from 4:30-6:30pm at Jones Hall, open to ticket
holders only.
Exclusive 10% discount for Casa Argentina members

Happy New Years everyone from Always Tango!!
We need to cancel the Always Tango Milonga on January
22nd because we will be attending the Houston Tango
Marathon. In February, the Sirrom School of Dance has a
previous rental so there will be no Milonga in February.
We will resume the Always Tango Milonga at the Sirrom
School of Dance on March 26, 2011.
Thank you!
Juan Carlos and Alicia
