to get new dancers into the tango scene. Many regular
tango events are off this weekend so you can do attend
the Tango Marathon, so be sure to confirm other events.
Know cancellations are for Práctica Dominguera, Te House of
        Tea, and Helios Milonga.

In addition, the SPA is offerring 2 for 1 discounts on the

Houston Tango Marathon from January 21st-23rd!

Come join us for the first-ever Houston Tango Marathon,
a community-based event aimed at promoting new friends,
energized connections and above all, TANGO. Three late
nights of dancing fueled by some of the nation's top DJs.
It will be an event reminisced for the rest of the
        year. Be there!

The event will take place from Friday, January 21st
through Sunday, January 23rd at Rice University.
For more information and to register, please visit

Beginner's Immersion Workshop, January 22nd and January 23rd!

The Houston Tango Marathon is offering a special workshop
for beginner dancers. If you haven't taken classes before
or you just don't feel confident enough to get on the
floor, Fuad Adra and Ozlem Direk will be teaching 2-hour
workshops from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday
(January 22nd and 23rd). This event will take place at
        the Rice University Student Center.

It is not how fast you can make a lap around the dance
floor or how many steps you can squeeze into a lap,
but rather enjoying the connection with each other and
letting the magic of the music carry you around. A fun
introduction to the basic milonga etiquettes and floor
crafts. Connection and musicality combined with the basic
walking and turning techniques will set you on track for
        your first tango marathon.

Please tell all of your not-yet-but-soon-to-be-tango-dancer
friends! Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring
your best self :) And beware, you may get addicted.
