Eva y Pablo return to Houston October 8, 9 2016
Eva and Pablo are among the leading young couples
specializing in Tango Milonguero in the world. They are
based in Albuquerque, NM and Buenos Aires, Argentina. They
have taught and participated at the Albuquerque Tango
Festival since 2014. They previously have taught in the
Mini Chicago Tango Festival 2013, Burning Tango Festival
2013, New Zealand Tango Festival 2009, Festival of Ferrara
2011-2013, USA, Oceania, Asia and European tours. They
combine an extraordinary ability to explain the basic
mechanics of danceable tango and from there to build a
very personal dance. In their classes, they increase the
confidence of their students by giving them the tools
they need at all times.
Eva Garlez is one of the younger exponents of Tango
Milonguero. She also studied in the Academy of Susana
Miller and Maria Plazaola, where she began her teaching
career as both follower and leader, often the partner of
both Susana and Maria, developing considerable knowledge
and understanding of both roles. Eva’s love of dancing
transmits as she teaches and performs. She has become one
of the outstanding milongueras having not only taught
and performed with great milongueros in seminars given
by Susana Miller and Maria Plazaola in Buenos Aires but
also in the milongas. She taught in “Milongueando in
Buenos Aires” festival organized by Susana Miller and
Maria Plazaola in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Pablo Rodriguez started dancing 10 years ago, at La
Academia de Susana Miller y Maria Plazaola, soon began
to participate as an instructor in regular classes
at the Academy showing great talent for dancing and
teaching. Participated as a student in many seminars taught
by many milongueros such as: Tete Rusconi, Pocho, Osvaldo
and Coca, Ruben Harymbat, Pedro Sánchez etc. Alberto
Dassieu was one of his most influencing teachers and a
really close friend until his passing earlier last year.

Liz and Yannick Vanhove returning to Houston in October
European Tango Champions, Liz and Yannick Vanhove, are
returning to Houston in October and November to teach
group lessons and intensive weekend workshops. This time
they will be focusing on musicality and mastering advanced
concepts.
Here are some of the things other Houston tangueros like
most about their teaching:
“They are patient, knowledgeable and give great
feedback. And they are so much fun!”
“Technical explanations as to why things work or
not. Personal attention, while in a group class.”
“How they keep everything in balance and everyone’s
attention fresh. They have knowledge of tango in many
aspects and their respect for tango shows in their
lessons.”
In addition to being excellent instructors, Liz and Yannick
are genuinely interesting in building up the Houston Tango
community and have chosen Houston as the first home of
their tango school, Tangorrion. This unique relationship
allows them to return to Houston on a regular basis to help
dancers improve and grow. Because they continue to explore
the richness of tango and develop new techniques, they
are able to bring to fresh ideas and new techniques every
time they visit. We welcome them back with a warm abrazo
tanguero and look forward to what they have to teach us.
