Opera in the Heights presents Piazzolla's
Maria de Buenos Aires
The pulsing rhythm of the streets, a woman possessed,
and her dance of life and death.

Opera in the Heights
1703 Heights Blvd, 77008
https://operaintheheights.secure.force.com/ticket
In the slums of Buenos Aires, there lived a woman named
María, who people say was “born on the day God was
drunk.” She is seduced into a deadly underworld by the
spirit of tango. Astor Piazzolla’s intoxicating nuevo
tango music and the dreamy poetry of Horacio Ferrer,
driven by the enthralling rhythm of an Argentine tango
orchestra, will transport and transfix like nothing heard
or seen before on the Oh! stage.
"This Opera is one of the reasons I fell in love and
began my tango journey. I still have the poster! It’s
amazing today I get to be part of a Houston production
under an exceptional stage and artistic director and
talented group of artists - singers and musicians. This
weekend and the following weekend at Opera in the Heights"

Be In Tango
411 Westheimer Rd, 77006
Practica follows the Level 2 class, all levels are welcomed

dancing in the community, so we celebrate it with each
of you. Ask different people to practice or work with
your dance partner. Practica is hosted by Iryna, so you
are welcome to bring your questions and work through them
with the instructor, or just ask for feedback.
Rules: Everyone (despite dancing role) is welcome to
invite/ask anyone to dance. Everyone can say no, and has
right to choose whom they practice with and for how long,
and to be treated with respect. And please do not take "no"
personally. Yet the environment must be safe, comfortable,
and inclusive for all levels, roles, and genders. We do
not practice neither cabaceos, nor cortinas, to avoid
confusion with milonga. Should you have any questions or
