        The 2004 Metatango Festival rolls into town this
        week, and it's going to be great!  Great faculty,
        plenty of room for classes and milongas, live music,
        milongas every night and a tango competition.  It starts
        Wednesday night and runs through Saturday night,
        April 7-10 at the Adam's Mark Hotel, 2900 Briar Park

        The live tango music at two Metatango milongas will
        be provided by the excellent Daniel Diaz and The Tango
        Camerata.  In addition to Metatango, they will play an
        educational concert on tango music and history at Bellaire
        High School, 5100 Maple Street, on Wednesday evening at
        7pm, students $3, others $5.  Also, they will perform
        a concert at Ovations, 2536-B Times Blvd, on Thursday,
        7:30pm, $10/person.

        Victor Collins begins class at his new location
        this Wednesday at E & Company, 2266 W. Holcombe
        at Greenbriar.  Victor now also offers
        Thursday classes in his newly expanded home
        studio at 3013 Roseheath in far north Houston.

        Glover Gill of Glovertango plays delicious solo tango
        piano at the Continental Club from 8-9pm. Come to dance

Sunday

        Tango Houston hosts their weekly practica at
        Café Matisse, 114 Gray at Valentine, from 7:30pm
        to midnight,713-942-8600.  Come practice what you
        have been learning in class, polish your steps for the
        milongas, and try out new moves in a fun, forgiving dance
        environment. Casual dress, plenty of room, beginners
        welcome, advanced dancers welcome.  $3/members, $5/public
        (Tango Houston membership is $12/year)

        Open dancing at Agora Cafe, 1712 Westheimer at Dunlavy,
        just across the street from Brazil, from late until later
        (generally after the practica above at Cafe Matisse). Agora
        is an older house that has been beautifully remodeled with
        an inlaid hardwood floor, an open design with balcony,
        and large windows open to the street. No cover, with
        sandwiches for sale and a full bar. Derik has stocked
