Dancer and Teacher Bios

Mylene Pelletier and Julio C. Otero
Passion, elegance and sensuality are what best describe the
magnificent partnership formed by this couple. As performers with
the Ensemble Romulo Larrea, a, a Canadian based tango orchestra,
they have captured the hearts of audiences with their sublime
elegance and their intimate connection to one another.

Their intense passion and devotion to tango has led them to
study extensively in Canada and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their
teachers include such world renown master's as: Roberto Herrera,
Pablo Veron, Fabian Salas, Graciela Gonzalez, Miguel Zotto,
Esteban Moreno, Lorena Ermocida, Thomas Howlin, Ramiro Gigliotti
and Julio Balmaceda & Corrina de la Rosa, Jorge Firpo and Aurora
Lubiz, amongst others. Mylene and Julio believe tango is first
and foremost a dance of the people, and they share this through
a teaching style which marries the technical as well as the
aesthetic aspects of tango, allowing their students freedom of
expression and creativity in their dance.

Angela Avila-Jimenez
Angela Avila-Jimenez began dancing Argentine Tango in 1999. Her
passion and devotion to tango has led her to study tango under
various teachers, among them Nito and Elba, Marcus Questas,
Diego and Carolina, Daniel Oviedo, Daniel Trenner and Eric
Lanoix. She has performed in numerous local Tango exhibitions,
namely performances at St. Mary's University, the King William
Fair and Our Lady of the Lake University with Janis De Lara and
the Tango orchestra Viva Tango. In 1999 Angela, Frank Huddleston,
Terry Bauch and Kathy Robertson founded SATangueros in San
Antonio, Texas.

Pauline Cashion
A casual attendance at a tango practica in NYC has driven
Pauline Cashion to become mesmerized, entrenched and dedicated
to developing both her skills as a tango dancer and the Tango
community of San Antonio. She has studied tango methods and
techniques with Pablo Pugliese, Daniel Trenner, Carolina and
Diego, Julio and Corina and Pablo Veron, to name a few. She has
also participated in practica for three years, done performances
at various city events, and taught two series of classes for
students from Health Careers High School. Pauline has helped
establish and continues to support various Tango venues in SA.

Frank Huddleston
Frank Huddleston has been dancing Argentine Tango since 1999, when
he began traveling to Austin to take weekly classes and occasional
workshops. In 2002 he made a trip to Buenos Aires. His teachers
have included Monica Caivano, Ricardo Moncada, Lucianna Valle,
Fabian Salas, Diego DiFalco, Carolina Zolaski, Julio Balmaceda,
Corina De La Rosa, Eric Lanoix, Pablo and Mingo Pugliesi,
Brooke Burdette, Daniel Trenner, Javier Rochwarger, and Angel
Cristaldo. He has taught classes in San Antonio for several years,
and was one of the founders of the SATangueros group.

Marika Landry
Marika Landry has been dancing Argentine Tango since 1998. After
intensive training with the "Couleur Tango" group of the "Avenue
Tango" Tango school (Quebec City), she has now devoted herself
professionally to Tango for over two years. During this time,
she has taught in different countries (Canada, Mexico, USA, and
Germany) with Gregorio Garrido, a partner who was for her a great
source of inspiracion in her Tango training.

Marika now teaches in Montreal with "Tango Mylio", and she
continues to transmit her passion for tango by insisting on
technical fundamentals. She uses and adapts specific exercises
for each dancing level. Marika aims at transmitting all the energy
and emotion of her mentors Hernan Obispo and Mariana Dragone.

Eric Lanoix
Eric Lanoix instantly fell in love with Argentine Tango when he
discovered it in Montreal in early 1998. Since then, he has learned
the sensual dance from great masters such as Hernan Obispo, Esteban
Moreno, Claudia Bodega, Paul Montpetit, Laura Eva Steinmander,
and others. Eric also traveled to Buenos Aires and Montevideo to
deepen his grasp of the music and dance of Argentine Tango. He
has taught and perfomed in various locations including Quebec,
Texas, Louisiana, and Thailand. He was a Tango dancer in the 2001
motion picture "Waking Life" , directed by Richard Linklater.

Eric also began serious study of the bandoneon in early 2003. He is
the bandoneon player in San Antonio's Tango band, "Viva Tango". His
mechanical engineering background, together with his knowledge of
the "music of the Rio de la Plata" allows him to effectively teach
body movement, stability, and lead/follow as well as the intricate
nuances of tango musicality. Eric recently performed at the 2nd
NewOrleans Tangofest. Eric is a regular visitor of the San Antonio
Tango scene. This marks his third workshop in the Alamo city.
