        The Tango Houston Annual Membership Meeting will he held
        this Sunday May 9, 6:00pm, at Serrano's, 2815 S Shepherd,
        77098. Serrano's is near Alabama, just across from The
        Bookstop, and there is plenty of parking right behind the
        restaurant. There are three positions open on the board:
        president, secretary, and an open position. Please come
        this Sunday with your energy and ideas. Any and all topics

        is also finalizing details for a new Sunday tango venue
        starting May 16; stay tuned for details.

        Toe to Toe have outdone themselves this week, with an
        impressive array of milongas and workshops during the visit
        of Mario Consiglieri & Mariana.  With three (count 'em,
        three!) milongas on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and
        workshops on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, it's a full

        There will be a live tango show on Saturday, May 8, from
        9pm to 2am, sponsored by Osvaldo of Mediterranean Palace
        Buffet at 1801 S. Dairy Ashford.  George & Jairheley of
        Tango Trio Rioplatence will perform a tango demonstration.
        There will be dining, dancing and the show.  The buffet
        includes fifty different dishes.  $23/person for the show

        Glover Gill of Glovertango plays delicious solo tango
        piano at the Continental Club from 8-9pm. Come to dance
        or just to hang out in the relaxed atmosphere. 3700 Main

Tuesday

        The Houston Argentine Tango Association start a new seven
        week class cycle next week, May 11.  Joan Bishop & Roger

        upscale Mediterranean cafe bar.  Great wood floor, menu
        of salads, sandwiches, coffees, wines, etc.  Easy going

        Victor Collins teaches class - beginner 7-8pm, practica

Thursday

        Toe to Toe brings Milonga con Las Minas (Dancing with
        the Girls) to the elegant and trendy Cotton Exchange
        Bar, 808 Franklin Travis. Live music starts at 9:00pm.
        Special tango performance by Mario Consiglieri, in town
        to teach a workshop.  Drink special created especially
        for this event - "La Milonga", plus an excellent selection
        of wines, vintage cocktails, premium cigars and delicious
        appetizers.  $7/person.

        Toe to Toe hosts Milonguita Rea in connection with their
        weekend workshop, to be held at the house of Esra Inan
        (thanks Esra!) The address is 302 Avondale, suite A,
        Houston 77006. On Westheimer, going east, make a left at
        Mason and park. Do not park on the south side of Avondale
        between Mason and Taft. It is residential parking, and the
        police have been writing a lot of tickets lately! When
        you get to the entry gate, press #, and wait for dial
        tone, then press "05". Please bring snacks and drinks,
        and cover charge is $5.00.

        Arepas & Empanadas Gourmet, Inc., 12792 Veterans Memorial
        on the north side of town. Already a hot dining and dance
        spot on the weekends, now adding tango night every Friday.

        Open dancing at Agora Cafe, 1712 Westheimer at Dunlavy,
        just across the street from Brazil, starting late.  Agora
        is an older house that has been beautifully remodeled with
        an inlaid hardwood floor, an open design with balcony,
        and large windows open to the street. No cover, with
