HATA hosts the Halloween Milonga in the big ballroom at
King's Dance Center, 5700 S. Rice Avenue, this Saturday
9pm-1am. Costumes appreciated & rewarded, and nothing
scary about the truly super prizes for best costumes:
First place male & female costumes receive $50 gift
certificates for Europa Cafe, second place costumes
to be discovered. Cover: $10/person, security guard,
complimentary Hors d' oeuvres, BYOB, ice, cups and some
beverages available. On behalf of HATA, many, many thanks
to one and all who have volunteered to help!
Victor Collins' milonga and free class on the north side
of town continue this Friday, with a practica before
the class.
Martin & Natia have resumed their class schedule.
Austin hosts Miguel Angel Pla for a workshop this weekend,
Friday through Sunday. I took a class from Dr. Pla (he
is a medical doctor during the day) in 1999, and it was
quite enjoyable. Pla doesn't (or at least didn't) teach
milonguero style, but his salon style was the most precise
I have ever seen. He has this way of moving and placing
his feet with incredible precision and grace, and we all
know that the milonguero walk is the basis of all tango.
I'd recommend this workshop for studying his walk, if
nothing else. For all the details, contact Elizabeth at
512-775-5958, or email <esteer1 at austin.rr.com>.
Always Tango will host their next milonga at the Melody
Club on Saturday, November 6, mark your calendars.
This is a series that keeps building, and Juan Carlos &
Alicia are doing a super job putting together these events.
Tango Houston will host another great milonga with
Glovertango at The Continental Club on Sunday, November
21 - mark your calendars.
Missed a tango email? Need the calendar while away from
your computer? You can always refer to past tango email
