Victor continues his free class & milonga in far north
Houston on Fridays, and Daniela's practica continues for
the first three Sundays in June.
Susana Collins writes: Dear dancers, I am sure many of you
have had the pleasure of meeting John Gammill at some of
our recent tango events. He is the tall fellow, normally
accompanied by his sidekick Terry, which together easily
fill a room with their positive and cheerful energy. Aside
of a new member in our tango community he is involved in
various dances, and has been busy putting together a fund
raising event - to benefit the American Cancer Society.
A cause very close to him, after suffering the loss of
his wife, Sylvia Spanihel, to the disease. The event
promises to be a fun filled night - with a mixture of
dance music for all to enjoy, and a great floor to dance
them on... including (of course) tango music which
will be provided by Eric Lanoix throughout the night.
So, mark your calendars for Saturday June 18, at The
Moon Water Grill near the Kemah Boardwalk (same place
as our last AHM dance). Come to support a GREAT cause,
and stay to enjoy a WONDERFUL and FUN night. Please find
complete information on this registered ACS event, on the
following link: http://www.danceandlivewell.com/Events.html
Eric Lanoix writes: A few of us tangueros in Clear Lake
are working together to form the "Clear Lake Tango Club"
- nothing fancy (no 501(c3)), just a group of friends
who would get together regularly to learn, practice, and
share tango. We are trying to find out how many people
are interested in this. If you are, please fill in the
following "poll", as it will help us tailor the "Club"
to best fit the needs of the community.
Question 1: Are you interested in coming to
learn/practice/share tango in Clear Lake (TX) on a
regular basis?
Question 2: How often (more than once a week? weekly?
monthly?)
Question 3: Would you attend a monthly milonga in the
Clear Lake area?
Thanks, and please respond as your feedback will
prove invaluable in offering the community the best
possible service. Please email your responses to
<eric at tangotango.us>.
Eric also writes: I just published my latest tango
music chronicle. This one explains a simple and
sure way to discern a tango from a milonga. Check
it out at http://www.lavidatango.com or at
<http://www.tangotango.us/Music_Chronicles_2005.html>.
While you are at it, B. Clifford (one of the people on
this list) invites you to join the La Vida Tango list
(see <http://www.lavidatango.com/>).
The TangoHouston.org web site seems to be offline again,
as they switch web hosting companies. Should be back
online again Real Soon Now.
Missed a tango email? Need the calendar while away from
your computer? You can always refer to past tango email
