Dear Friends:

Legend has it that if you see the rare phenomenon of Le Rayon
Vert, a luminous ray of green that appears on the horizon where
the sunset meets the sea, you will know your one true love.

Will the Desesperados see it? 

Come find out on Friday June 17 at 8:00 p.m. at the Performing
Arts Center at Houston Community Northwest, Town & Country Campus.

The Desesperados: Dancers Deanna Green, Arneita McKinney &
Michele Brangwen; Musicians Vladimir Kotsiouruba, Greg Harbar,
& Thomas Helton; Actress Sandra Tapia.

Desesperados is a series of tangos that celebrates the mystique
of this evocative dance form and its passionate music, with
choreography and text by Michele Brangwen; and music by Thomas
Helton.

The evening's program also features the premiere of award-winning
composer Arthur Gottschalk's Voices in My Head, a work for a solo
percussionist and electro acoustic sound environment created in
part from sounds from the Belizean rain forest. It is performed
by James Metcalfe

KUHF Announcer Elaine Kennedy will introduce the performance and
moderate a Meet-the-Artists Q & A panel immediately following
the performance.

This performance is presented by the Houston Community College
Northwest Fine Arts Department. Tickets are $10 general admission
and $5 students and seniors and can be purchased at the door with
cash or check.

The Performing Arts Center at HCC Northwest is located at the
back of the campus at I-10 and Beltway 8 (The Northeast corner
