A DANCE AND MUSIC SPECTACULAR
Featuring the
Budapest Ensemble from Hungary
In its performance of
"CSARDAS--THE TANGO OF THE EAST"

Over 200 years ago, in the mysterious villages of Transylvania,
the rocky Carpathian Mountains, and the rolling plains of
Hungary, a thrilling new dance fashion called the "CSARDAS"
was blossoming. Its fiery passion inspired a cultural genesis
that would entrance the hearts of Hungarians and Slovaks and their
neighbors--Romanians, Poles, Croatians--and radically change the
way the European world danced.

The "CSARDAS" is glamorous and versatile, punctuated by
synchronized couple dancing, thunderous boot-slapping, and
lightning-quick spinning, all provoked by the romantic sounds of
Gypsy violinists. It was the tango of the East. And it survives
today as the national dance of many in Central Europe.

Join this world-renowned company of 35 dancers and musicians in a
theatrical extravaganza celebrating the energy and exhilaration of
"Csardas--The Tango of the East".
