Dear All:

At last Houston has a permanent venue for tango!

Starting, this Saturday, September 9th at 9pm, and
every Saturday from now on, we have a permanent nightclub for
Argentine Tango in Houston.

TANGO CAFE
3217 Mercer
Mercer at West Alabama
Just off West Alabama to the South
Between Weslayan and Buffalo Speedway
http://houtango.com/maps/TangoCafeMap.html

Neighborhood is Central Market area

When:

Every Saturday and expanding into Fridays and more
days as time goes on.

Entrance fee:

10 dollars and BYOB and a food plate until liquor
license is approved

Floor:

The floor is brand new and it is a beautiful floating
wood floor.

Sound:

The sound system is also brand new and top of the
line. It is incredible.

Atmosphere:

The place is covered with comfortable sofas and there
are museum pieces (ie: antique bandondeons, violins
etc.) from Buenos Aires throughout the club in display
cases, plus many old posters on all the walls full of
tango history. The atmosphere o is definitely just
like Buenos Aires. It will even have a garden patio
area and a bandstand for tango orchestras. Very cool.

Everyone is welcome to come this Saturday and dance
all night long non-stop. Come join in and help open
and christen the place. There will be a bottle of
Champagne on hand this Saturday night just for this
purpose. See you there. Life is good and now it
will be better.

Note:

Since Tango Cafe is a permanent night club and has
investors who put money into the club and have faith
in the project, conflicts with other Saturday night
tango immunity events cannot be avoided. However there
should be no reason why Houston Tango dancers cannot
go to other scheduled Tango events and end up later at
the Tango Cafe after ward for a late night evening of
even more tango. Houston is a big city, so growth
will happen. The Russian Bear stays open late for the
Russian community, so Tango Cafe can probably do the
same thing? The more tango the better, right?
