From the Fin de Ano party organizers:
On behalf of Maria Luisa, Ester, Carlos & Arturo,
we would like to thank the Houston Tango community
for the overwhelming response to our New Year's Eve
celebration.Because of your support, the party was a big
success and a lot of fun for everyone. Carlos Posada would
also like to express his grattitude for all the comfort
shown to him and encouragement he received while at the
party, especially at this time when he is just starting
his recovery. Thanks again to everyone who came. And a big
thanks to all of those who helped us in one way or another.

Mercy & Mika begin teaching classes on Wednesdays,
starting next week. Mercy will be teaching an intermediate
class 8-9pm, while Mika will teach a beginner class,
9-10pm. $25 for the five class cycle, or $7/class for
dropins. Mika's class is already full for this cycle
(that was fast!). Mercy's class has some requirements:
students must be able to execute the fundamentals:
walking, back ochos, forward ochos, ocho cortados,
and molinetes (jiros). City Dance Studio, 5416 Chaucer
Dr. behind Ruggles. <chenmercy at gmail.com>

Dana McGuire announces the return of Argentine tango
to the newly reopened No Tsu Oh cafe (that's Houston
spelled backwards). Old timers can tell you about dancing
upstairs among the thousands of old shoes in boxes, lining
the walls. This event will be downstairs with their great
new sound system, and plenty of visibility. 314 Main
St. downtown. Sundays at 10pm, starting January 21.

Martin & Natia are rearranging/splitting their classes:
We have added a new class. Due to increasing number
of students in our Beginners class on Fridays, starting
January 2007 we will move the beginners class to Thursdays
at 7pm, and Fridays will be strictly for 7pm Intermediate
and 8pm Advanced classes. We welcome the new enthusiasts
to Wednesday Intro to Tango and Thursday's to Beginners
classes. Please keep in mind that we are seperating the
class, so Martin and I are able to spend an appropriate
amount of time with each student during the class. We love
the levels we have, but it will be better to separate
the beginners from intermediate from advanced classes.

Another great Austin workshop on the calendar:
March 23-25: First Argentine Tango Teacher Exchange.
Teachers will be Tomas Howlin, Florencia Taccetti,
Cecilia Gonzales, Jaimes Friedgen. More information go
        to: <http://www.austintango.org/TeacherExchange07.html>
or call or write: 512-657-6183 or margvance at aol.com

Missed a tango email? Need the calendar while away
from your computer? You can always refer to past tango
email at http://houtango.com/, and subscribe there, too.
Please send any tango news and event information to
        <tangopost at compact.com> (only). Thanks!
