This weekend features the new Milonga del Centro, hosted
by Tango Houston. (They're baaaaaack!) Martin & Natia
also host their regular Saturday night milonga at Cafe
        Tango Bar.

Roberto Alsina updates us on Tango Houston -
Tango Houston kicks off its annual membership drive
at Milonga del Centro. Tango Houston is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the promotion of the Argentine
Tango in our city. With that purpose, over the years
it has organized milongas, workshops and meetings
to discuss and learn about our common passion, Tango.
As things evolved and new groups have been formed in the
city, we believe that the function of TH has to evolve
too, and therefore it will start sponsoring some tango
activities and events which are in accord with its goals.
The first of those activities sponsored by TH will be the
Milonga del Centro on September 8th, in which members
of TH will receive a $5.00 discount on the price of
the ticket (normally $15.00) Also, the membership fee
has been reduced to $10.00 per year, for those joining
TH before and up to September 8th (membership can be
acquired at the milongas ticket counter the same night),
and TH members will keep getting discounts in all the
events sponsored by the Institution. We need you to
become a member, to participate and bring new ideas
for the continuing improvement and expansion of the
Argentine tango in Houston. Join us!! For further info,
contact us by email or by phone: Ramster06 at global.net or
        ralsina at houston.rr.com 832-541-3773 or 713-205-9302

From Gonzalo Garcia-Olano and Oscar Lopez-Gamundi, an
update on Milonga del Centro, to be held on 9/8/07:
Once again, we would like to remind you that the date for
Milonga del Centro is scheduled for Saturday, September
the 8th at Planet Funk Academy located in Houston's Bayou
Bend area off of Memorial Drive in between downtown
and the Galleria. The precise address is *5731 Logan
Lane**.** *You may also visit www.planetfunk.tv for
more information about the studio, location, and map.
We would also like to again mention that the entrance
to the Milonga will be priced at $15.00 per person
(which will include complimentary wine and parking).
Seating is limited, and reservations are being accepted
by contacting milongadelcentro at gmail.com or by calling
713.408.9065. Please be aware that the reservation will
only be held until 10:00 pm the evening of the Milonga.
We would also like to proudly announce that Tango Houston
(www.tangohouston.net) has offered to sponsor a portion
of this event. It has always been our only intention to
offer the tango community and Houston an event with the
flavor of the traditional downtown Buenos Aires Milongas.
Therefore, we decided that all proceeds from this event
would be entirely donated back to Tango Houston who we
feel will help promote Argentine tango in all of Houston.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and seeing all
of you at Milonga del Centro!
